Your customers are on their phones. Your website is built for a desk.

Picture the moment someone actually decides to come to your shop.

They are not sitting at a desk. They are in a parking lot, or on the couch, or standing outside another place that was closed. Phone in one hand. They search, they tap your name, and your site loads.

That is the whole game. One thumb, a small screen, about ten seconds of patience. And most local business websites were clearly never built for that moment.

I have watched this pattern for years. Somebody paid good money for a website once, years ago. It looked great on the designer's big monitor. On a phone it is a different story. The text is tiny. The menu is a PDF you have to pinch and zoom. The phone number is plain text you cannot tap. The book button is buried under three menus and a photo slider.

Nobody fights through that. They hit back and pick the next place on the list. The next place did not have a better product. It had a website that worked on a phone.

Here is what your customers are actually trying to do in that moment. They want to know three things: are you open right now, what does it cost, and how do I get there or book. That is it. Everything else on your site is decoration until those three questions are answered.

And the kicker is, most owners have never looked at their own website on a phone. Not once. They built it on a laptop, approved it on a laptop, and never checked the version their customers actually see. If you have not done this, do it today. Pull up your site on your phone. Try to find your hours. Try to call yourself from it. Try to book. If any of that takes more than a few seconds, you are losing people every single day and none of them will ever tell you.

The fix is not complicated. Big tap targets. A phone number that actually dials when you touch it. Hours that are current, not from last year. A menu or service list that reads on a small screen without downloading a file. One obvious next step, and it should be reachable without scrolling through your whole life story.

People talk about websites like they are brochures. They are not. A brochure sits on a counter and waits. Your website is the front door, and right now most of your customers are walking up to it with a phone in their hand and no patience left. Make it easy to walk in.

If your website only works on a computer, it does not work where your customers actually are.

Rather we just handle it?

Your website, Google profile and social, kept right by text. You stay on the floor.
