modern marketing for the small business

Stuff we think is really important.

PowerPoint isn't dead.

Ok, so maybe PowerPoint, as a tool is quickly being replaced by other tools. Tools like Prezi, Keynote, Google Slides, and Clearslide have all come well into the limelight in today's business practices. Even a quick Google search will return a list of things like 40 PowerPoint Alternatives for 2017

The point we're making is this: despite the number of digital tools we have as marketers, despite the number of automations that we can set up to trigger sales campaigns and sales behaviors, it's a person - a real-life man or woman - that sits behind the desk, at the conference table, on the other side of the presenting computer screen that makes brings the deal home.

So what does this have to do with your marketing?

When was the last time you updated your PowerPoint (or 'other') slide deck? When was the last time you went through your deck and updated images, updated fonts and colors from the 2000's look to something that looks more like today? It's probably been a while. Most busy professionals hardly have enough time to make it through their emails over the course of the day, let alone update a slide deck that they are so comfortable with.

However, when we start to consider the importance of this deck, the impact it has in your sales process... The branding opportunities to coincide with your website and other marketing materials... The true importance of the "first impression" you only have once.... We start to see that this simple document, the same one you've probably been using for years, is actually much more impactful and important than we have thought.

So what?

So what does this mean for your business? What it means, is it's critical to visit your sales deck every so often and make sure that it stays current - not only with current information and data, but with modern fonts and images. Make sure it doesn't get stale.

It's not uncommon for companies to spend upwards of a couple thousand dollars on this type of document. And yes, while this may seem like a big expense for something your high schooler does every week, think again. Think about the every opportunity your sales deck is facing to make a new sale. Think of this investment as something this will help drive new business. Something that will help your company recoup that investment in just a sale or two.

Sales decks are something we're very happy to help businesses develop, as we can see just how big of an impact they can have on the business' bottom line. Reach out to us today to get the conversation started!

How long has it been since you've updated your sales deck?
